The Ultimate Betrayal and why I am here.
Nearly all my family died in Concentration camps in Germany. There were 3 survivors from an enormous family. We were left with nothing.
The UK took in my family. The gave us a home, work and security. They did not blame us for their own misfortune, they cared for us and made sure we would survive.
They also promised us “Never Again”.
That was a lie. It turns out, “never again” is too hard for Western Politicians, and Russia/China both victims of Nazi Germany decided to learn from them rather than learn the lessons.
That is the ultimate betrayal. Survivors were promised that they would be protected. Now we see western politicians and media actively promoting neo-nazis, fascists and holocaust deniers. Or pretending not to see.
A reminder. Nigel Farage gleefully sang “Gas the Jews” at school. Trump spends happy time on social media posting racist memes, the American Departments create posters lifted from the Hitler government, muslims, jews, black people, gay people, trans people and refugees the world over are killed because of their identity.
For me, this is the ultimate betrayal - how can I trust any media or politician ever again when they all have failed the easiest test. Don’t let genocide happen again.

I am a descendant from the people who murdered and dehumanized your family and millions of others.
It makes my heart heavy that this madness spreads again all over the world. It is important not to forget where dehumanizing people leads us.
Three years ago I could not imagine that we have camps where people disappear, torn from the streets, arrested by brownshirt thugs in the middle of America. Billionaires thugs raising their arms, flooding social media with racist hate, billionaires cutting newspaper staff to cut people from unbiased information, billionaires raised as profiteers of Apartheid openly fighting democracy, just because they can…
In Bavaria a politician in the ruling coalition spread leaflets at school „send jews into the gas“, the teacher who revealed it got punished, while the politician just told „it was my brother who put it into my case“. And he is still in office. Still ruling.
That is the world we live in now.
